Federation of Denmark Alawi Associations

According to Federation of Denmark Alawi Associations (FDAA), Alawite is blended belief and culture of Europe and Asia, and is a philosophy belief, culture and type of living that has been founded by Hunkar Bektas Veli, at about years 1200. Than has been improved more after that.

There are about 10,000 refugees living at various places of Denmark, who came from different parts of Turkey and both Turkish and Kurdish ethnic origins. In respond of, especially after the massacre at 2nd July 1993 in Sivas, against Alawis by reactionary powers in Turkey, and in general in respond to increase at racist, religious and nationalist waves worldwide; Alawis in Denmark felt need to come together at around of their own culture and to define their own cultural identification and to let everyone know those identification. Because of all this, a year later after the Sivas massacre, at 1994 at Aarhus city of Denmark the first Alawi identical association has been established. And than with coming together of all other associations, the Federation of Denmark Alawi Associations has been established at 11th Sep 1999. The FDAA has got 7 associations member.

After the establishment of FDAA, Alawis who lives in Denmark, felt need of re-identification Alawi belief in connection of new modern times and the environment they are living now. According to FDAA, the foundation of Alawi belief and culture is made up of these; human being is exalted existence, science and love is the most beautiful way (religion) that humans goes, should be expected as religion; fight for right , equality and justice; respect to different cultures and identifications.

FDAA’s principals are those have been in Alawi belief; science is our way, love is our religion. Our book, our belief is human being without the Kaaba at Mecca. We look at to all nationality same. We don’t separate the man and women. Against to cruel and support the oppressed. We take control of our hands, tongues and sexual needs (do not steal, lie, and go for anyone other than own partners). We are revolving Semah like the whole universe, and defend non-stop evolution and non-stop improvement. We work and produce, come together and have CEM. Be holy brother and share sweet and hot morsel and share everything other than loved one’s lips. Believe that the affection is the school for perfect mature human. Pick essence from every different flower (every different culture) and make honey. Respect every religious but do not put us under the yoke, defend the secularism. Keep ownership of our past and future. Alawite is our belief, knowledge, resistance and love.

FDAA’s aim is, has been in the view of all above to bring to bring together Alawi community in Denmark at around of their belief and culture; and support them to get well with other communities, they are living together so that they can have a happy life; get them to gain cultural power and help them for their all humanist needs and problems.

One of the other duties for FDAA is to make sure Alawi’s have been accepted as a group with their identical culture, ethnicity and belief, wherever they are living either in Denmark or in other countries. Every establishment can be a member of FDAA as long as they accept FDAA’s aim, policy. And FDAA can co-operate with every type of democratic establishment and association. According to Alawite human is the exalted existence. Because of that FDAA is against all type of violent methods and keep it’s works at social, cultural and educational level.

FDAA has been bounded by Denmark’s Law and been accepted by official bodies. And is a member of Denmark ethnic minority confederation (ELO). And is a founder member of the Confederation of European Alawi Association (CEAA).
